Educator Resources

Welcome to the RAISE website for Educators!

For an explanation on how to conduct the different types of searches, see below.

RAISE is an alliance of informal science providers in Northeast Ohio. We recognize that no one person can be responsible for teaching our young people a subject as vast as science, so we've come together to align what is taught in the science centers, nature centers, museums and the zoo with what you teach in the classroom.

We've designed this database with educators' needs in mind. It contains programs for K-12 educators/students as well as professional development programs for educators. All programs are aligned with the new Ohio Academic Content Standards for Science.

To access STUDENT PROGRAMS:

  • Click on STUDENT PROGRAMS
  • Enter the Grade(s) and Science Standard(s) and click Submit.
  • Check the Science Indicator(s) you'd like to search for and whether you wish to find programs matching all of the indicators checked or any one of them.
  • The RAISE database will give you all the student programs available through the RAISE member organizations that meet your requirements.

If you are interested in PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT for yourself:

  • Click on PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
  • Enter the Grade(s) you teach.
  • The RAISE database will give you all the professional development available for that grade.

All the professional development courses are designed to support the teaching of the new Ohio Academic Content Standards for Science and the requirements for "highly qualified" teachers.

We hope you find our database helpful. If you have additional suggestions about how we can improve our database for educators, we'd enjoy hearing from you.

Thank you from all of the RAISE Member Organizations.
